Lutheran Health Services
The Lutheran Health Service (LHS) is the health department of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea (ELC-PNG). It was established with the aim of providing quality health care to the rural population in Papua New Guinea, with a focus on primary and maternal health.
LHS is the second largest faith-based health facility in Papua New Guinea. It operates in the three regions of Highlands, Madang/East Sepik, and Morobe, and maintains four hospitals (Gaubin, Yagaum, Etep, Finschhafen) as well as 26 health centers, 55 smaller medical stations, two training centers for community health workers, and a nursing school. The LHS employs a total of 420 medical professionals.
Morobe Provincial Health Authority
Provincial Health Authorities are agencies of the National Department of Health. Under the Provincial Health Authorities Act 2007, they are public law corporations with administrative and financial responsibility for hospitals, public health services and rural health services.
Mountain Area Medical Airlift Foundation
MAMA Foundation is a non-profit organization to provide medical evacuation from rural areas in Papua New Guinea. It focuses on reducing maternal mortality by ensuring health access for mothers in need.
In 2021 alone, more than 130 patients benefited from this medical evacuation service successfully conducted by MAMA Foundation.
MAMA Foundation is an important cooperation partner. They are also our contact and advisor for logistical issues.
KK Health Care
Solutions
KK Health Care Solutions acts as a small local consulting firm for projects in rural areas. It offers fully comprehensive project planning and implementation. They will assist the project as an advisor for specific issues (local context, culture, etc.).
