Every second person worldwide has no access to adequate medical care.
After many decades of "development cooperation" and health programs worth millions, this situation has not changed in a comprehensive and trend-setting way. The justified assumption that an improved economic situation in the future might also knowingly contribute to an improvement in medical care does not represent a hopeful perspective for many of the disadvantaged regions. Against this background, it is clear that several efforts are needed to combat global disparities. In addition to overarching improvements such as prioritizing health as a political goal, patients need direct and immediate help.
